moments to notice…

bella plant i have been battling a terrible bug since christmas – not the flu but still pretty icky. today i really wanted to get outside of these icky moments to take in the world again. i walked onto the balcony and saw how my little plants are just thriving. they looked so lovely in the afternoon light.  in talking with a friend this evening of the sweet moments our little guys share - y’know the ones you so wish to remember forever — i shared with her this moment with kai from this holiday. he took me into his room and was desperately trying to show me something very important to him. he kept pointing to the air. i couldn’t figure out what he was talking about and he couldn’t understand why i didn’t see…until i stopped for a moment and really looked. he was fascinated with the dust which was floating in the air – dancing on a sunbeam. wow…. if that isn’t a reminder to slow down a bit and take in this world. and that makes reason 480, 000 why i adore this little boy — who so carefully points out special moments in the day that my adult mind would otherwise glance over without a thought. thank you, kai — for reminding me to see.

  • How do you tell a 23 month old child Thank you for reminding us how beautiful the tiniest parts of the world can be?? Kai also shared his sunbeams with me while I was there, and I was beyond words. Record this in his baby book so neither of you will forget his precious “insight” into life!! :)

  • I’m speechless… what an absolutely perfect moment…

    *sigh
